Todd Hazelwood
Todd Hazelwood started racing Dirt
Karts (AIDKA) at the age of 7 in
2003 and enjoyed many fantastic
results along the way. Todd's major
Dirt Kart achievements include three
state titles along with three
consecutive club championships.
In 2008 The Hazelwood Racing Team
made the transfer to bitumen sprint
kart racing. Todd immediately showed
raw talent by winning his first
meeting starting from the rear in
each race on his P Plates. Todd has
continued on his winning way by
having great success at major
meetings. At a national level Todd
is now regarded as one of the most
successful Junior drivers in
Australia. Todd's major achievements
include four South Australian Closed
State Titles and five Open State
Titles and to prove Todd's success
Kart Oz Magazine rank Todd as 3rd
overall in Australia. This is a
fantastic achievement considering
the talent in the competition.
Todd races two classes, Junior
National Heavy and Junior Clubman
with both karts displaying the
number #14. Hazelwood Racing use
race winning engines from A1 Engines
and race Arrow Karts to complete
the very dominate package.
In March 2011 Todd was rewarded with
support from the Fujitsu "Cool"
Driver Program. The program is run
by the very experienced Chris Jewell
who will mentor and promote a
selected number of Go Kart and
Formula Ford drivers. Todd is very
excited and grateful to be selected
into the program.
In December 2010 Todd won the opportunity through
the Arrow Mygale rewards program to
test drive a Formula Ford at Winton
raceway in
Victoria.
Todd managed to top the time sheets
and was rewarded with an opportunity
to race a Mygale Duratec Formula
Ford for team BRM. Team BRM were
very impressed when Todd managed to
qualify 2nd and finish his first
meeting in a very credible 2nd
position. Hazelwood Racing is
currently searching for commercial
support in an effort to continue
Todd's successful career into the
future.
