15
year old South Australian, Todd
Hazelwood impressed Team BRM as he
qualified 2nd and finished 2nd
overall in his first ever Formula
Ford race meeting held at Mallala on
the 18th and 19th of February. Todd
won the chance of a lifetime through
the Arrow/Mygale Rewards Program.
In December 2010, Todd was selected
along with five other very
successful Junior Go Kart drivers
from around Australia to test a
Mygale Formula Ford at Winton
Raceway in Victoria. After the test
day, Todd was selected and provided
with the fantastic opportunity to
race a Mygale Formula Ford at the
South Australian State Series round
held at Mallala.
Todd tested on Friday in the heavy
rain, making it a fantastic
opportunity to show off his wet
weather skills. Todd was immediately
on the pace and Team BRM felt very
confident with what was to come on
race day.
Race day was dry and Todd very
quickly came to terms with the dry
and slick conditions. Todd put his
qualifying efforts into a front row
start from a 14 car field. Team BRM
were very impressed with Todd's
effort considering Todd has never
driven around Mallala in dry
conditions.
Todd raced 3 heats and was showing
improvements each session and
finished all three heats in 2nd
position. Todd surprised the field
with his raw talent and speed by
posting his fastest lap in the final
heat. Todd earned himself 2nd
overall for the meeting.
Todd and the team would like to
thank Arrow Racing Karts and Greg
Woodrow from Mygale for putting the
Arrow/Mygale rewards program
together, Team BRM and associated
sponsors for their support and
professionalism and all Todd's
supporters for coming out to Mallala
Raceway to cheer Todd on.

for the fantastic experience!
